Diwali ....prayers, fireworks, decorations, friends, family and food...For a week, health goes out the window! We can be good after Diwali until next month when Thanksgiving rolls around...followed by Christmas and New Years ...lol

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup and 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Ghee for frying
Procedure


  1. Mix wheat flour, cardamom, and salt in a large bowl
  2. Combine sugar, ghee and milk in a small saucepan and bring it to boil until sugar is melted. Then let it cool it is at a lukewarm temperature
  3. Add the sugar syrup to the wheat flour mixture and kneed in to a stiff dough
  4. Roll out dough until it is about 5mm thick and cut into diamonds with a pizza cutter.
  5. Let this sit for about 20 minutes
  6. Heat ghee for frying and fry diamond pieces until golden brown
