Peach Halwa

I thought I'd try a different type of halwa for a Diwali treat and it actually turned out nice.


Time: 15 minutes, Serves 2, Calories/Serving: 122


Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh peaches
  • 1/8 cup milk powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Nutmeg to taste
  • Cardamom to taste
  • Couple of saffron strands
  • Couple of slivers of almonds
  • 1 tsp ghee
    Procedure


    1. Heat ghee, and add peaches. Cook over low heat until soft (about 5 minutes)
    2. Add milk powder and sugar. Cook until ghee starts to separate from side of vessel
    3. Mix in nutmeg and allow halwa to cool
    4. Garnish with cardamom, saffron strands and slivers of almonds
    Serve hot by itself, or with vanilla ice-cream, or use as a filling of a graham cracker crust pie
