Corn Rotla



Time: 30 minutes, Serves: 2, Calories/Serving: 455

Ingredients
  • 2 cups corn flour
  • 1/2 - 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (optional)
  • 1 tbsp White flour
  • 1 tsp ghee
Procedure

  1. Add 1/2 cup hot water to corn flour and allow it to soak in for a few minutes. Massage in dough and add hot water if needed until texture is that of ‘Play Doh’
  2. Add salt if wanted and mix
  3. Let the dough sit for about 10 minutes
  4. Make 4 balls. With each ball, press out until they become flat like rotis but thicker (no need for a rolling pin). Use white flour to keep this dough from sticking
  5. Cook both sides on a pan, tava or clay tava until browned. Place over open flame for a few seconds until it balloons up a bit
  6. Apply a little bit of ghee on top
Serve hot with shaak.
